Mainly due to its coastal geography and its clean marine environment Chile enjoy several advantages for aquaculture development.

In 2005 we began farming mussels in Chiloé isle and in 2006 we set up the salmon farms in the Guaitecas Archipelago (XI Region, Southern Chile). Meanwhile, our technicians continue researching on new species with the potential to be farmed in the clean and pure Chilean coastal waters.
 

Thus El Golfo has moved on from being a traditional fishing company to the activity of sowing the seas and reaping its fruits.





No wonder our country shares with Norway the top world position in farmed salmon production and is the sixth largest producer of mussels.
 
 
To keep growing and leading the changes in the Chilean fishing industry, El Golfo is now working in aquaculture, a business area with bright prospects and great challenges.
